i took tons of pics that filled up my 4GB memory card. kelangan ko pang ayusin, that's my next personal project. i also plan to take up formal photography classes, if you know of some, share naman kayo!
but before anything else, tabi muna lahat....kelangan ko lang i-post to:
tagal na nilang MU ha :P
speaking of couples, congratulations are in order for Mia and Ryan! the doctor and the lawyer are planning a rocking wedding!! egg-ziting! :D
from our heydays at UP. i remember yesterday, the world was so young...
also, congrats to Mimi and Karl, who are tying the knot this year in Boracay :)
it hasn't been easy sailing for me. the bouts with nausea, the migraines and nasal congestions were just unpleasant to say the least. there was even a lost weekend when i was stuck in bed from saturday morning to monday afternoon because i was battling my epic migraine. i couldn't drink my usual medicines so i just had to bear it. hay!
but i'm glad that my mom's always there for me making sure that i'm eating and that i'm hydrated and gino's been my official blood pressure checker. dan has been my nurse making sure my ice packs are always fresh and cold. thank god for blue ice, even if they would always leave a blue stain on my forehead after hours of using them.
i'm feeling much better now though, the nausea has subsided but it's not completely gone. i've relied on these to help me get through those days when they just become unbearable:
sugar-free mints from marks & spencer
aside from these, i've been taking vitamins and supplements since my 8th week, which was our first visit to the OB.
my drugs: calvit (Calcium supplements, apparently women lose bone matter when they stop having their monthly visits), folart (folic acid for the bb and natalwiz maternity vitamins). i need to take one of each daily. good thing they're not that expensive, 21 pcs of each of the natalwiz and folart cost less than 300 peysus.
dan and i have also bought "implements" for my bulging belly. i'm still too small to wear maternity pants and i can still fit into my regular jeans (not the skinnies though, boo!) so we bought these belly belts from havingababy. i've been using these and have been really helpful. another thing are the bra extenders (yes bra exteeeeendeeers..., i won't elaborate, let's just say my cups have never worked so hard). last but not least is the big bottle of cocoa butter. i am predisposed to stretch marks (i've had some since high school, growth spurt i think, believe it or not) so this lotion is supposed to prevent the inevitable :P
side plugging, i bought the lotion at pcx at rockwell when i saw one of my favorite toiletry brands ever, the carmex lip gloss! i've been buying the pots (pictured at the left) eversince i've been going to the US. they're really good on chapped lips and don't evaporate fast. the last time i bought a pot was at a fancy pharmacy near my hotel in melbourne and it cost me A$5! these things usually cost just US$0.99! the carmex at pcx cost a very reasonable Php80 :) sarap nya gamitin!
i pray that the rest of the months would only get better :) hear that smalls? hehe.
oo nga pala, jason mraz's cd is now out locally, they're sold for Php450. i saw his tour sked he's going to Australia, Japan, Singapore, Korea....walang Philippines! Can someone bring him over pleaaase???
took this pic during his press conference at the discovery suites, ortigas, 2006. ang tagal na ha. (i will forever be grateful to jo for this chance!)
i've been staring at this ring the whole day today. it's so different and the fact that it's shaped as the infinity symbol makes it a perfect wedding ring :)
the inscription reads: "Quietly now, the dreams are sleeping now it is time to live." -Montana Wojczuk. (Ring from Jeanine Payne)
i never wear any rings except for my engagement and wedding rings but i'd make an exception for this one :) i'd have it done in white gold too to match our wedding rings.
then i went over to mimi and karl's blog and saw their shot of jay and gracious' wedding bands. the couple's bands had the infinity symbol in between their initials :)
*sigh* to infinity and beyond indeed!
as rick astley sang before...together forever and never to part (LOL! panira ng mood!!)
Ces Drilon and her two-member news crew went missing Saturday, June 7 but our sources confirmed they had actually been “abducted” after ABS-CBN network receIved the ransom demand. The story was also broken to media by the ARMM police chief Joel Goltiao. A text message is making the rounds quoting a ransom price considerably higher than that being reported by the Daily Tribune.
It remains unclear but it is reported that a certain Mindanao State University Professor Octavio Dinampo was in touch or was travelling with the ABS-CBN team of Ces. My sources tell me Ces herself decuded last Saturday to go on the coverage based on the tip that an unnamed ASG personality was “going to surrender.”
From the media reports now emerging, on Sunday morning Dinampo picked them up from the Mindanao State University hostel, and armed men identified as being under a certain ASG commander Albader Parad intercepted them as their vehicle passed through Kulasi village, ARMM police chief Joel Goltiao said.
The Maimbung police chief reported sightings in the Kulasi area and of people with a video camera inside a vehicle.
The Daily Tribune report written by its editor in chief, the feisty Ninez Cacho Olivares says the newspaper’s “intelligence sorce Drilon and her group “were last tracked somewhere at the foothills of Mt. Tumatangis, Indanan Sulu.
“We convened the provincial crisis management committee to send feelers to negotiate with the abductors, but the abductors have not yet said anything,” ARMM police chief Goltiao said by telephone, according to an AP wire story.
The report gives this further background: “Abu Sayyaf is estimated to have 380 fighters, down from more than 1,000 eight years ago. It has been weakened by U.S.-backed military offensives that have led to the killing and capture of many of its leaders and members.”
“But police said the militants have continued to plot attacks, including against U.S. soldiers who have been providing counter-terrorism training to Filipino troops in Jolo and nearby provinces.
Washington has blacklisted Abu Sayyaf as a terrorist group for bombings, kidnappings and beheadings, such as the 2001 abduction from a resort island of 21 people who included three Americans.
Philippine military and police officials say the group — which seeks a separate state for the country’s Muslim minority — has received training and funds from al-Qaida militants in the past.”
My own sources from at least two other major publications confirm the other details while ABS-CBN is set to issue an official statement on this breaking news within the day.
This writer knows Ces personally, having worked with her at the government-run Maharlike Broadcasting System, now NBN Channel 4, before EDSA 1. She is married to painter Rock Drilon, a nephew of former senate president Franklin Drilon.
This turn of events adds a disturbing dimension to the vents in Mindanao, coming as it does after the spate of bombings in Zamboanga and the Lanao provinces, and the skirmishes in Basilan involving either MILF, MNLF or Abu Sayyaf elements.
Whether authorities call these incidents terrorist attacks or banditry, the aspect of even working journalists being dragged into the fray despite their being civilian ‘non-combatants’ speaks volumes about the volatility of the situation and the lack of control government has in the troubled South.
We are sure the official line is that government will never negotiate with kidnappers, but the reality is different with conduits and back channels always the alternatives.
The foremost consideration always is the safe recovery of the victims.
AI is over...on to the next round of auditions! yun lang naman talaga masaya noh!
I hope this doesn't spell career death for Cook though :P Do you think Papa Archuleta is in a fetal position right now rocking himself while muttering "we were robbed!" ? LOL!Anyway, Archuleta can take over the void left by Miley Cyrus when she confused her tween fans with her Vanity Fair pictorial (naman!).
Sana may So You Think You Can Dance din dito. Wala kaming Star World e! (For the love of basketball i.e. Dan and daddy, we dropped Sky and subscribed to Destiny).
It was Dan's birthday last saturday :) The Santoses and Arboledas headed off to MOA since we made reservations for dinner at Via Mare. The restaurant was at a row which had a view of Manila Bay. The buffet was set up there (a lot of other restos had the same arrangements) and we were front and center of the show :) It was China vs. France (or Germany?) Anyway, it was awesome. It rained hard for about 30 minutes but the fireworks went off as planned. People were cheering and clapping all throughout the show and we were all awed by the spectacle. We were all kids again, even if it was just for two hours :)
Jason Mraz's CD will be out on May 13, 2008 (FINALLY!). You can pre-order at Amazon for just $9.99. The first single off this CD is I'm Yours. I first heard this song a couple of years back, I think this was a B-Side to one of his singles. Was it for 50 First Dates? That's what I remember but correct me if I'm wrong.
Here's the track listing for the new CD:
1. Make it Mine 2. I'm Yours 3. Lucky featuring Colbie Caillat 4. Butterfly 5. Live High 6. Love for a Child 7. Details In Fabric w/James Morrison 8. Coyotes 9. Only Human 10. The Dynamo of Volition 11. If It Kills Me 12. A Beautiful Mess
And because I'm a fangirl I searched for the live versions of these songs on Youtube. Ganda nila :D Can't wait for this CD to come out! Sana rin sabayan na nya ng tour diba Maan, Cha, Jo??
Sya na lang kaya paglihian ko? ahaha!
A montage of all the fan versions of I'm Yours was featured in Jason's website (which is now revamped, punta kayo, he will welcome you personally, well his voice will). May tiga-Philippines!
I remember me, Maan, Jo and Cha screaming "I'm Yours! I'm Yours! I'm Yours!" during Jason Mraz's second concert here. Si Maan sinabi, di yun request ng song ha, declaration yun, "Jason, I'm Yours!"
and finally a TV ultrasound (only sounds weird! hehe)
It's confirmed! Dan and I are 8 weeks pregnant!! It all sank in when we finally saw the baby's heartbeat moving so fast when I had the ultrasound. I was looking at Dan throughout the process and he was really weepy which then made me weepy. The feeling was just unbelievable. My estimated delivery date is on 6 December 2008. I share this due date with one good friend, Anna Angeles-Patajo of BlueLawbyAnna. Bles believes that our pregnancies are a conspiracy but it is fun to share what I'm going through with Anna. Lately nausea has reared its ugly head but when I get hungry, I AM HUNGRY! My feet have also gotten a little bit wider and so I have been on the lookout for comfortable flats. I'm wearing my superstar ballerina's to death but it's the most comfortable shoes I own now. My fat jeans have become my regular jeans now too.
I am dutifully taking my folic acid and calcium supplements and have been eating my fair share of fruits. Saturdays have now been delegated as doctor days having spent 3 of the past 4 saturdays in our OB's office.
Since Dan and I announced the good news to my family, I got this from EJ:
and the "bible" of pregnancy books from Ela:
I'm up to the third month na hehe :D
It's going to be an exciting ride for sure. Dan and I feel that it's a boy but we are both praying for a happy and healthy baby. I can't believe we're already parents!!
Eto pala yung dialogue when I told my Dad the good news:
one of the projects i did for our wedding was the table numbers. under each table number i printed lyrics to some of dan's favorite songs and some quotes from my favorite poets. it was a fun project since i was able to crack open my old poetry books and collections which have been collecting dust in my room.
one of the poems i used was by e.e.cummings. i only have one book by him, a collection of his more popular poems and illustrations. i bought it when i was still in UP. i wanted to buy more but i resorted to just borrowing books from the UP Main Lib as most of my student allowance then went to buying roast beef and chips sandwiches at green house (or milo and spaghetti at CASAA) or watching movies at SM North! if i wasn't reading e.e.cummings, i was devouring rainer maria rilke. e.e.cummings (the e.e. stands for edward estlin) also experimented with how words are positioned. if one read his poems, one may think he forgot to set the margins in his typewriter as his words are either spread out all over the page or are typedthisclose. but that is part of the experience . his words are literally alive, jumping all over the page, inviting the reader to jump with the caterpillar or to go lazily down a flight of stairs.
here's one favorite. enjoy!
i carry your heart with me
e.e. cummings (1894-1962)
i carry your heart with me(i carry it in my heart)i am never without it(anywhere i go you go,my dear;and whatever is done by only me is your doing,my darling) i fear no fate(for you are my fate, mysweet)i want no world(for beautiful you are my world,my true) and it’s you are whatever a moon has always meant and whatever a sun will always sing is you
here is the deepest secret nobody knows (here is the root of the rot and the bud of the bud and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;which grows higher than soul can hope or mind can hide) and this is the wonder that’s keeping the stars apart
Ang saya!!! ang dami kong nakitang artista hahaha!!
to anyone who's still thinking about getting a photobooth....kumuha na kayo :D the memories and laughs are timeless (dan and i still get a kick out of looking at our own fotoloco guestbook)
